Baby Therapy and Consulting Sessions

Parents bring a variety of questions and concerns to therapy, anything from motor development to digestion and sleep patterns:

  • My baby seems slow to learn to roll over. Should I be worried?
  • Is it normal for a baby to startle easily and prefer to pull away rather than snuggle in?
  • Should I be concerned if my baby seems kind of floppy?
  • My baby cries a lot and I don’t always know how to help her calm down.
  • Is tummy time important?  My baby doesn’t like it at all!

In one-on-one sessions with you and your baby, a Developmental Movement Therapy session will pay specific attention to concerns you might have and will address your baby’s needs through careful observation and attentive touch.  Therapy will give you ideas and strategies and will also guide you in communicating with touch in order to facilitate your baby’s comfort and to support her growth and development.

Testimonials:

“Lorni really sees each child as a unique individual and her respect for babies is evident in the way that she works with them. She has a wonderful ability to meet babies where they are at and provide the space for them to express themselves physically, while at the same time challenging them to try new ways of moving that may not come easily.”
